Looking to declutter the nursery? Here we share organizing hacks to declutter the nursery and get baby's room tidy once and for all.
Remember when you had just completed decorating the nursery, put the last finishing touches, and organized the nursery closet as you eagerly waited for the baby's arrival? Well, taking care of a baby is no easy task, and the first few months are often a blur between sleepless nights and long feeding sessions. So it's understandable if the nursery needs a bit of decluttering.
Decluttering the nursery doesn't have to be overwhelming. Dedicate a couple of hours or a few days here and there to reorganize the nursery drawers, clean up the cluttered corners, sort out the nursery closet and invest in ample nursery storage.

Below are the best tips to declutter the nursery and bring order.
NURSERY DECLUTTERING TIPS: 9 WAYS TO ORGANIZE THE NURSERY
1. ESTABLISH A PLAN TO DECLUTTER THE NURSERY
A start-off point for decluttering the nursery is to establish a plan. It should address the organizing concerns in the nursery and the time allocation. Prioritize the areas to tackle-so progress is achievable. For many parents, the nursery dresser, nursery closet, and play corner are often the areas in the nursery that needs decluttering and organizing.

2. SORT BABY'S ITEMS
Once you've identified an area in the nursery that needs decluttering, take everything out and sort the items into keep, donation, storage, throw or sell bags. If you are decluttering the nursery closet, empty the closet. Then weed through all the items and sort them into the five bins or baskets.
3. DOES IT SPARK JOY?
Getting rid of our belongings is hard, but it's even worse when it's your baby's clothes, toys, or other items. So take inspiration from Marie Kondo and ask the question she often asks, "Does the item spark joy?".

4. INVEST IN NURSERY STORAGE
If you intend to maintain a clutter-free nursery, having designated nursery storage can make all the difference and help you keep a well-organized nursery. The top reason a nursery becomes cluttered is when items aren't put back in their proper place, either because you don't have dedicated storage or you don't have the time. For example, when organizing the nursery dresser, add drawer organizers with labels- so you know exactly where the baby's clothes go after laundry.

5. ALLOCATE CLUTTER-baskets/bins
You've seen how quickly your baby grows from the day you brought her home from the hospital to now. They outgrow clothes and toys so quickly. To keep the nursery clutter free, get two clutter baskets -one for items you want to go into storage and the other for items to donate. Keep the baskets labeled and easily accessible so whenever you find an item you no longer need-put them away into the clutter baskets.

6. DECLUTTERING THE NURSERY DRESSER
The best way to organize the nursery dresser is to empty all of its contents and then sort the items, as we previously discussed. Once you have determined what you'll keep, start sorting them into categories-onesies, sleepers, pants, and so forth. Add drawer organizers to store and organize baby's essentials, such as grooming items, lotions, etc. - so every item has dedicated storage. Similarly, use drawer dividers to keep the baby clothes contained and neatly folded clothing from shifting. For more expert tips on nursery dresser organization, read this post.

7. DECLUTTERING THE NURSERY CLOSET
Organizing the nursery closet is often the biggest challenge when tackling nursery decluttering. To declutter the closet, take everything out of the closet -so you have a blank slate. Invest in closet organizers such as extra rods, a cube organizer, or a closet system to add more storage if needed. Sort all the contents you took out to identify items you want to keep. Further, categorize those items and store them in dedicated storage. Decide whether the baby's clothes should be folded or hung. As you organize your baby's closet, keeping good visibility is the key to maintaining a clutter-free space.

8. DECLUTTERING TOYS
Are you constantly tripping over baby's toys strewn on the nursery floor? Keeping toys organized in the nursery is always a challenge. If you don't have a playroom, bring in toy organizers and storage to help you keep the toys organized in the nursery. To declutter toys, start by gathering baby's toys and sort the items into keep, donation, storage, throw or sell bags. If you still have a lot of toys left, consider a rotation system where you only put out a few toys at a time. This way, the toys don't overwhelm your space, and the baby feels like they have new toys every couple of weeks.

9. DECLUTTERING NURSERY BOOKSHELVES
Yet another area that might need decluttering in the nursery is the bookshelves. Yes-those nursery bookshelves you styled and restyled before you brought the baby home from the hospital might be a mess. Declutter the bookshelves by emptying everything and sorting. Identify books and items that you want to keep and organize the shelves. Store books so they are easily accessible. As with toys, if your book storage is limited, consider rotating books.
