At first, babies will not be able to identify or differentiate colors, but over time understanding color is an essential building block they will use for learning in all areas of their life.

COLOR PSYCHOLOGY AND HOW IT IMPACTS BABY'S MOOD AND WELL BEING
Color psychology is the study of how our brain perceives what it visualizes. The impact colors have on our brains is used often by society and businesses to manipulate our decision making. So why not apply this same color psychology when picking colors for baby's nursery?
RED
Red is the boldest of colors and attracts attention than any other color. Red is associated with energy, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love. It is said to increase metabolism, respiration rate, and raise blood pressure.
PINK
Pink represents femininity unlike any other color. It is also associated with tenderness, softness, calmness, innocence and optimism.
BLUE
Blue is the exact opposite of red on the color wheel and it is associated with uniqueness, calmness and authenticity. Blue lowers blood pressure, heart rate, while alleviating feelings of anxiety and aggression.
YELLOW
Yellow is another color that commands our attention. It exudes joy, happiness and energy. It is associated with happiness and motivation as well as warmth.
ORANGE
Orange is a bit feisty like red and joyous like yellow. It is associated with enthusiasm, happiness, creativity and determination.
GREEN
Green represents freshness and nature. It is associated with stability, endurance, trust and loyalty. Green makes you relax and creates a calming effect.
WHITE
White is associated with purity, goodness and innocence.
BLACK
Black is quite mysterious and is often associated with power, intrigue and elegance.
BEST COLORS FOR BABY'S ROOM
So then according to color psychology, the colors for baby's room has the ability to either energize the baby, or make the baby anxious. It can also soothe, or stimulate the baby. It really depends on the colors and combinations you choose.
Let's look at how each of the colors look in the nursery.
RED NURSERY
Since red is a very intense color for sure, it is best used as a beautiful complimentary color in the baby's nursery. In these red nursery designs, the pops of red, gives the nursery a bit of drama and personality without being too overpowering.
PINK NURSERY
Pink can be used in the nursery as an overall wall paint, in combination with wall paper or just by bringing in a few nursery decor pieces. A pink nursery exudes softness and calmness.

Blue when used correctly in the nursery can be calming and serene. Pair cool blues with warm woods and dark navy blues with whites, to create a stylish and refreshing space for the baby.
YELLOW NURSERY
Yellow is an uplifting color that really gets your attention but pick the right shade to use in your baby's nursery. You want to make sure it's not too bright or too muted. Add yellow accessories to bring in a doze of cheer and sunshine to the nursery.
ORANGE NURSERY
Pops of orange look beautiful in nursery designs and it works well with earth tones and neutrals such as taupes, beiges and greys. It brings warmth to the space and makes the baby's room feel welcoming.
GREEN NURSERY
Green nursery designs are always a big hit, whether you are painting an accent wall or going more dramatic and coloring all the walls. Another way of bringing green into the nursery is to incorporate green nursery decor pieces. Pair the greens with whites, taupes and warm woods to create a balanced and harmonious design.
WHITE NURSERY
White can be the most refreshing color to use in a nursery. It can evoke purity and sophistication. The key to decorating with whites though, is to layer whites in similar shades of white warm whites, gray, warm grays, etc. Use patterns and textures in similar white hues to give the baby's nursery depth and interest.
