This hospital bag checklist for pregnancy will help you get your hospital bag organized and packed, so you'll be ready to go at a moment's notice to the hospital.
When it's time to pack the hospital bag, you know you are in the home stretch of the pregnancy. You are probably tired most of the time, yet consumed by the need to nest.
From putting up the final touches in the baby's nursery to settling on the baby's name- there's still things to get done until the last moment. When you hit the 35 week mark though, it's time to pack the hospital bag.
Here is my comprehensive hospital bag checklist for pregnancy, so you can be prepared regardless of when the baby decides it's time to come out.
Hospital bag checklist for mom
Use a bag like this awesome leather travel duffel bag to pack all of your essentials in. It's quite stylish and has plenty of space.
1.ROBE
With each of my pregnancies I packed a few robes in the bag. These floral robes are more comfortable and definitely prettier than the hospital gowns.
2.SLIPPERS
Bring along some slippers. Whether you use it to walk around the hospital room or to go to the bathroom, having slippers will keep your feet nice and clean.
3.NURSING TANKS
You'll have plenty to deal with such as engorged breasts as your milk starts to come in. Comfortable nursing tanks will give you the coverage and support you need.
4.Nursing Bra
A nursing bra will give you all the support you need as well as provide easy access for breastfeeding. Also, during the first few weeks you'll be leaking milk until your milk supply gets in sync with baby's feeding requirements. You can slip some of these nursing pads into your nursing bra to absorb the leaked milk.
5.Yoga Pants
Yoga pants are easy and comfortable to wear. Plus, if you've had a vaginal birth, you'll be asked to wear heavy duty pads along with huge disposable underwear. Yoga pants will help them stay in place.
6.Pajamas
It's quite unlikely you are going to get a good nights sleep immediately after the baby's born. The nurses will be in and out taking the vitals, the baby will be hungry or just need to be held. However, changing into cozy pajamas can help you relax.
7.Going home outfit
Pack something that's super comfortable for the car trip back home.
