Did you know that hanging artwork incorrectly is one of the most common design mistakes? So let's look at how to hang artwork in the nursery.

Artwork is a great way to add personality to the nursery. Finding the perfect art can be hard but often hanging the said artwork is even harder.

Here we are sharing 5 tips for how to hang art in the nursery correctly. With these handy tips, you'll be able to hang wall art like a pro.

6 TIPS WHEN HANGING ARTWORK IN THE NURSERY

1. CURATING ART

First, you'll need to curate the art collection. Even though it's just a nursery, you'll want to hang art that means something to you. So take your sweet time and find one or more artwork that can add personality, color and texture to the nursery design.

2. HANG ART AT EYE LEVEL

Hanging artwork too high is a very common mistake. Generally, a single artwork should be hung about 60 inches from center of the art piece to the floor. This would mean that the artwork is at eye level of an average person.

3. HANG ABOVE FURNITURE

Now if you are hanging artwork above the nursery furniture such as the dresser, look to hang the piece 4-6 inches above the furniture. Or if it's above the nursery chair, it could be 8-10 inches above.

4. CONSIDER THE SCALE

Hanging artwork that's too small or too large will look awkward. Let's say you are hanging artwork above the nursery dresser. You should definitely consider the scale of the artwork relative to the dresser. As a rule of thumb, the artwork should be two thirds the size of the furniture.

5. LEANING ART

Leaning your favorite artwork against the wall means you don't have to mess with nails and measuring. Simply, lean the artwork on a shelf or bookcase to add color, depth and visual interest.

6. GROUPING ARTWORK

When hanging more than one piece, consider the collection as a unit and hang them just a few inches apart so there's cohesion.
