Turning a dark room into the baby's nursery? There are some tricks you can employ to make a dark nursery feel lighter and we are sharing them here.
When you are designing a nursery, chances are, that the space you have to work with isn't that big. If that's the case, previously we shared a post with our favorite tips on how to make a nursery look bigger. Or, sometimes the space could be big, but there's hardly any natural light coming through.
So in this post, we'll share our favorite ways to make a dark nursery feel lighter and brighter.
8 TIPS ON MAKING A DARK NURSERY FEEL LIGHTEr

1. BRING IN LIGHTER NURSERY FURNITURE
When decorating a nursery that doesn't get much natural light, try to bring in nursery furniture that are lighter or have a muted look. Avoid dark woods and metals, which will weigh down the design, even more.
2.GO WITH neutrals
Incorporating nursery décor that's neutral can add a sense of lightness to the nursery.
3. CHOOSE LIGHTWEIGHT textiles
When you are trying to make a dark nursery look lighter and airier, the key is to bring in fabrics that are lighter. In a nursery, blackout curtains play an important role in helping limit the amount of light entering the baby's room. So in this case, you might want to reconsider bringing in blackout curtains and instead go with something a bit lighter.
4. ADD A MIRROR
Whether you trying to make a small nursery look bigger or a dark nursery look lighter, adding a mirror to the nursery can instantly make the room bigger and brighter.
5. CHOOSE NURSERY FURNITURE WITH LEGS
When you incorporate nursery furniture with legs, you create lightness in the design and the nursery looks airy.
6.LAYERING nursery LIGHTING
Designing a nursery with layered lighting, instead of just one overhead light fixture, will make a dark nursery look brighter. Layering the nursery lighting by bringing an overhead light fixture, a floor lamp or a table lamp, will certainly give the nursery a beautiful glow.
7. ADD PLANTS
Adding a plant is one of our favorite design tricks, cure to many design dilemmas. In a dark nursery, a plant can instantly add life and breath of fresh air!
8. GO WITH A MOODY VIBE
