Lets talk about how to pull off a round rug in the nursery!
One of the biggest design mistakes we see in interiors including in nursery designs, is when the area rug does not do justice to the room. And, when you talk about a round rug in the nursery, it is even more harder to find the perfect one.
In an earlier post, we looked at how to choose a rug for the nursery. The rug in your baby's nursery is supposed to connect all the design elements and bring everything together through one grounding point. The correct rug will help set the tone for your style as well.
In this post however, we want to look specifically at decorating the nursery with a round rug. For many, a rectangular rug is the obvious safe choice, but the truth is, decorating with a round rug can be both versatile and easy.
HERE'S HOW TO PULL OFF A ROUND IN THE NURSERY
1.USE A ROUND RUG IN THE NURSERY TO MAKE A SMALL ROOM APPEAR LARGER
Using a round rug in a small nursery will help make the nursery feel larger. It directs the eye away from the walls to create the illusion of more space.
2.BRING IN A ROUND RUG TO MAKE THE NURSERY FEEL LESS CLUTTERED
A curves of a round rug will make it seem like the furniture is dispersed in a small nursery by encouraging the eye to scan across the room, rather than cluttered.
3.INTRODUCE A ROUND RUG IN THE NURSERY TO HIGHLIGHT A CIRCULAR STATEMENT PIECE
If your nursery design features a statement piece such as a round mirror or a round chandelier, a round rug can help accentuate the piece even more.
4.USE A ROUND RUG TO ADD VISUAL INTEREST TO THE NURSERY
A round rug will add color and style to your baby's room. So pick a rug with the right combination of colors, but keep in mind they don’t have to match the other colors in the room perfectly.
5.CREATE A VIGNETTE OR DISTINCT ZONE using a round rug
A round rug can help you define a space in the baby's nursery such as a reading nook or even nursing nook. All of the pieces in the nook touches the rug, creating a vignette and adding a sense of intimacy.
6.ADD A ROUND RUG TO soften the nursery
If you baby's room has a repetition of sharp and harsh edges such as from the crib, dresser and bookcases, a round rug can help soften the space.
7.layer rugs to add texture and depth
