As design enthusiasts, the end of the year is an exciting time as paint companies make their color of the year picks after much research and analysis. And these color picks often influence the colors we expect to dominate nurseries in 2023.
As we look at 2023 Nursery Paint Color Trends, one thing is for sure- nursery color palettes are going to be anything but boring. Paint will once again make a dramatic re-entrance into nurseries, and we'll also see nurseries painted in warmer nature-inspired tones that bring coziness and comfort to the space.

TOP NURSERY PAINT TRENDS 2023
1.GREEN
We couldn't be happier that green paint colors will become the new neutral. Incorporating brilliant shades of green in our nursery designs makes us connected to nature-giving a sense of tranquility to the nursery.
Green paint colors add depth and character to a nursery design and look beautiful when paired with brass accents, natural materials, and light fabrics. Look for lighter shades such as Sherwin Williams Evergreen Fog and Farrow and Ball Pigeon and darker tones such Benjamin Moore Rainy Afternoon, Farrow and Ball Green Smoke and Benjamin Moore Chimichurri.

2.DARK BLUE
Another paint color trending in 2023 is rich dark shades of blue that bring elegance and serenity to the baby's room. Look at Valspar's Everglade Deck, 1 of the 12 "2023 Color of the Years" - a rich shade of dark blue, midnight blue. This shade will look gorgeous with brass accents, warmer wood tones, and natural materials.

3.PURPLE
Purple in almost every shade is having a big comeback. Digital Lavender, Coloro's 2023 Color of the Year, has created so many waves, and we expect to see different hues of purple in interiors for 2023.
For a bold nursery color, consider aubergine-a beautiful, rich purple/plum shade that oozes luxury and sophistication, such as Farrow and Ball Brinjal. For a mid-tone- consider Benjamin Moore Amazon Soil and for a lighter shade, go with a lavender such as Benjamin Moore Mauve Desert.

4.WARM EARTHY TONES
Each year we eagerly await Sherwin Williams Color of the Year revelation, and this year it is a warm, earthy tone called Redend Point. It's a blend of blush and beige that can instantly warm up the nursery and ground the space. Other warm earthy tones include Sherwin Williams Malted Milk, Sherwin Williams Likeable Sand, and Benjamin Moore Conch Shell.

5.EARTHY PINKS
Dunn-Edwards 2023 Color of the Year—Terra Rosa—is a deep, rosy pink hue with a touch of terra-cotta that can make the perfect backdrop for a nursery, almost like a grounding neutral. Along those same lines, rich mauves and dusty light pinks are great to paint for a pretty and sophisticated nursery design. Look at paint colors like Benjamin Moore New Age and Sherwin William Studio Mauve. Or look at shades such as Farrow and Ball Setting Plaster- a dusty, earthy pink for sophisticated and stylish nursery.

6.DEEP BLUE-GREENS
Expect to see deep aqua shades like PPG's color of the year-Vining Ivy adorn many a nursery designs in 2023. It is a gorgeous deep blue-green color and will look magnificent on a nursery accent wall.

7. BROWNS
We've seen beautiful brown shades taking interiors by storm, and we expect this trend to continue in 2023. Brown shades are a fabulous alternative to grey shades and can make the nursery warm and inviting.
Farrow and Ball Stony Ground is a pretty light shade of brown, Farrow and Ball Dead Salmon is a rich and muddy pink, while Benjamin Moore Wenge is a rich chocolate shade with touches of brown, black, and violet that adds drama and creates a cocooning effect.

8. whites
In 2023, we will see even fewer nursery designs featuring stark white walls. Instead, we'll see off-whites, creams, and greiges featured in many a nursery design. Look for colors such as Sherwin Williams Pure White, Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee, Valspar Cozy White, and Sherwin Williams Pediment.

9.PASTELS
Previously we looked at Pantone’s color of the year - Digital Lavendar, a light pastel purple. Similar to that shade, in 2023, one of the biggest paint trends might be the emergence of pastel colors from soft blues to dainty pinks and minty greens. These beautiful pastel shades are just perfect to paint your nursery walls and create a delightful space for baby.

10. BLACKS
Yes- black is back in a big way! But in 2023, we are looking at black shades such as HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams standout color pick of 2023- Darkroom. It is a deep black shade with purple undertones that will look great on a nursery accent wall.
