Wondering how to keep a kids' room from getting messy?
More often than not, when it comes to kids' rooms, keeping the space clutter free and organized is hard. Sometimes it feels like you've spent an enormous amount of time cleaning only to walk in a bit later to find a cluttered disaster zone. It turns out there's a method to keep a kids' room from getting messy using the popular KonMari method from Marie Kondo- aka queen of organizing.

Ahead, genius Marie Kondo approved tips to keep a kids' room from getting messy.

how TO KEEP A KIDS' ROOM FROM GETTING MESSY
1.DECLUTTER
A common sense idea to keep a kids' room from getting messy is decluttering. Take stock of everything in the space-clothes, books, toys, papers, and sentimental items. Identify things you want to keep, donate and throw.
2.TIDY BY CATEGOry
Who said decluttering and organizing are easy? To make it somewhat manageable, tidy the kids' room by category. For example, take all the clothes out of the closet, totes, baskets, and the dresser, and then sort the clothes pile and organize them before moving on to the next category.
3.MAKE SURE EVERYTHING SPARKS JOY
Seeing a pile of clothes or toys in front of you can be overwhelming. How do you figure out what to keep? According to the KonMari method asking the fundamental question of whether an item sparks joy makes the decision-making easy. Take the time to touch each item and ask the question as you decide what to keep, donate or throw away. If your little ones are a bit older, get them involved.
4.FIND A PLACE FOR EVERY ITEM
One of the cornerstones of keeping a kids' room from getting messy is to ensure that everything has a designated place. Whether it's a toy, headband, or blanket-each item should have a place to call home in the kids' room.
5.GROUP LIKE ITEMS
Keeping the kids' room from getting messier is a lot easier when you organize like -items together. For example, find a storage solution to store all the shoes together in the space or add storage for all the soft toys.
6.ACCESSIBLE STORAGE SOLUTIONS
Adding storage solutions that are easily accessible is equally key when organizing a kids' room. Whether book storage or toy storage, find solutions such as carts, bookshelves, clear containers, and cubbies that are easy to reach.
7.STORE BY FREQUEnCY OF USE
Certain items in the kids' room are not frequently used or needed, such as clothes out of season or bedding. Store those items on the top shelves.
8.ASSIGN DRESSER DRAWERS
If you aren't careful, the dresser tends to be the center of chaos in a kids' room. Avoid messy dresser drawers by assigning clothes to each drawer- so each item has a specific spot. Labeling is indeed quite helpful to ensure that things stay in place.
9.USE KONMARI FOLDING METHOD
The KonMari method of folding is perhaps one of the most popular ideas and makes a huge difference when organizing the drawers. Sometimes called -file folding, it involves folding clothes neatly and standing them up vertically. Doing so rather than the usual stacking saves space and lets you maintain neat drawers in the long run.
10.DAILY PICK UP ROUTINE
Throughout this process, get the kiddos involved if they are old enough. To keep a kids' room from getting messy, have a daily routine of clean-up or pick-up. Spend 10 to 15 minutes each day picking up toys, books, clothes, or anything else that's not in their usual spot.
