NURSERY CHECKLIST 2022 : WHAT YOU'LL NEED FOR THE BABY NURSERY
1. CRIB
This is one of the key nursery furniture items you'll need for the nursery. There are many different styles of cribs and at every price point. Here are some of our favorite cribs.

2. CRIB MATTRESS
The baby will spend a LOT of time on the mattress, sometimes up to 17 hours a day. It's definitely something to splurge on and get the very best out there. Look for a crib mattress that's safe and durable. We like this and this one.
3. FITTED SHEETS
The safest sleep environment for the baby, is where there's minimal loose bedding. All you'll really need are a few crib fitted sheets like these ones.
4. CHANGING TABLE/ NURSERY DRESSER
Setting up a smart diapering station will make life much easier and make the nursery function well. We love using a nursery dresser because it makes organizing baby's clothes and diapering essentials easier.
5. CHANGING TABLE TOPPERS
Use a changing table topper like this one to easily convert the nursery dresser into a changing table. Most changing table toppers have compartments for storing diapering essentials close by.
6. CHANGING BASKET / CHANGING PAD
A changing basket or pad is what you'll use to keep the baby on while changing diapers. Depending on whether you choose a basket or pad, you'll also need to get inserts or changing pad covers.
7.NURSERY CHAIR
A nursery chair is another key nursery furniture item that you'll need for the baby's room. This is where you'll spend most of the time-feeding and cuddling with the baby. Purchase a nursery chair that's comfortable above all else!
8. FOOTSTOOL/POUF
Sitting for long periods, holding and feeding the baby is tiring. A foot stool is a nursery essential to rest tired feet and get in the best ergonomic position for breastfeeding.
10. SIDE TABLE
Every nursing nook needs a side table to keep a glass of water, cell phone, nipple creams, etc.
9. STORAGE BINS & BASKETS
A well designed nursery always has lots of storage solutions for baby's toys, books, blankets and more. Add bins, baskets and shelves to help organize the nursery.
10. HAMPER
You'll be surprised by how much laundry there's to do from soiled onesies to to burp cloths, and sleepers. Be sure to place a clothes hamper like this one, near the changing table to collect baby's dirty clothes.
11. DIAPER PAIL
A diaper pail is a nursery essential to help keep the nursery smelling fresh, by locking in the odor of soiled diapers. This sleek diaper pail is one of our favorites because it's good at trapping odors and looks pretty good as well.
12. CURTAINS
Window treatments are the finishing touch every nursery needs. We like to use blackout curtains in a nursery. They help control the amount of light entering the nursery, so baby's sleep patterns aren't interrupted.
14. RUG
A nursery rug helps pull together all of the design elements. Choose a rug that strikes a balance between scale and setting.
15. BABY MONITOR
A baby monitor helps to take the stress away by ensuring you always have an eye on the little one, no matter where you are in the home.
16.SOUND MACHINE
Babies can get startled easily by sudden noises and placing a sound machine in the baby's room, helps to drown out some of that noise.
17. HUMIDIFIER
A humidifier is yet another nursery essential, to help the baby breathe easier especially in the winter.
18. NURSING PILLOW
A nursing pillow is designed to help prop up the baby next to your breast so the baby in a good nursing position.
19. NURSERY LIGHTING
From an overhead light fixture to a lamp or two and a night light- nursery lighting is an important part of setting up the baby's room.
20. MOBILE
Bring in a nursery mobile like this one, to entertain the baby and help baby drift off to sleep.
