We love wallpaper in a nursery design because not only does it enhance the design but can add a dramatic effect. When picking wallpaper for a nursery, you really set the tone and vibe for the space by going with a muted backdrop or bold with a "wow" factor. The wallpaper you choose for the baby's room can often dictate your nursery design style as well.
In this guide, we'll go through what you need to consider before wallpapering the nursery and share some of the best nursery wallpaper ideas.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT WALLPAPER FOR A NURSERY
1. CONSIDER THE ADHESIVE USED on THE WALLPAPER
There's three adhesive types- the unpasted, pre-pasted and removable peel and stick.
The unpasted is found in traditional wallpaper that's often grasscloth and specialty wallpapers. These are very delicate and you'll probably have to go with professional installation.
The pre-pasted has a water activated backing and much easier to install and remove as well.
The preference for decorating the nursery is the DIY option-the peel and stick adhesive. You'll be able to remove and reposition the wallpaper making installation stress free.
2. DECIDE ON THE MATERIALS
The fabrication of wallpaper has certainly evolved and there are many different types of materials and textures.
Wallpaper handwoven from natural fibers such as sisal, raffia and grasscloth have a more textured organic feel and environmentally friendly. On the other hand, they are not the easiest to maintain, especially in a nursery or kids space.
Then there are the non woven wallpapers, made from natural and synthetic fibers. They are certainly easier to install and maintain.
The most popular option for nursery decorating though, is the digitally printed wallpaper where the pattern and color choices are unlimited while the upkeep is minimal. It is also the most economical.
3. HOW TO MEASURE WALLPApER FOR A NURSERY?
First, finalize your nursery design details and walls where you plan to apply the wallpaper. Next, add the widths of all those walls together to come up with a combined width. Then, measure the height of the nursery wall. Once that's out of the way, it's time to do some simple calculations-finding the total square footage. Simply multiply the height by the combined width measurement. Finally, divide the the total square footage by the square footage of a roll of wallpaper. Of course, make sure to round up to factor in pattern repeat and variation.
