As you prepare for your baby's arrival, one of the things you are probably spending a lot of time on is the baby registry. I have parents who lean towards a more minimalist lifestyle tell me that they are completely overwhelmed with the regular baby registries. So use this minimalist baby registry to gather just the baby essentials you need.
MINIMALIST BABY rEGISTRY:NURSERY
1.BASSINET
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that newborn babies sleep in a bassinet or crib in the same room as the parents. You can get a bassinet to keep the baby close to you at night or move the crib to your master bedroom for the first few months.

2.Crib
Every nursery needs a crib. Choose a crib that fits into your nursery design plan. Safety always comes first with cribs and then style.

3.Mattress
When buying a baby mattress you can choose between a foam mattress or an innerspring mattress. Also, remember that the firmer the mattress the better it is for baby's safety. Checkout this comprehensive guide on choosing a baby crib mattress.

4.Mattress Pad
You'll want to get a waterproof mattress pad to protect the crib mattress from wetness.
5.Nursery Bedding
Though you may see cribs all decked out with bumpers, pillows and quilts, the American Academy of Pediatrics cautions against using any of them. The Academy recommends that infants sleep on their back on a firm mattress without any soft objects or loose bedding. So, all you'll really need to purchase are a few fitted crib sheets and maybe a couple of crib skirts.
6.Dresser
Though you can use a changing table, it really makes sense to invest in a dresser. It will provide you more space for storage and the baby can continue using it for years to come. There are changing table toppers that you can purchase separately to convert any regular dresser to a changing station.

7.Nursery Chair
You will spend a lot of time on this chair - a lot of late nights, sleepless nights and cold nights. You'll need a chair that's comfortable, spacious and has arm rests.

8.Ottoman
Though some may dispute that this particular item is an essential, I could not imagine the many hours spent nursing without an ottoman. An ottoman promotes ergonomic health and prevents back pain.
9.HAMPER
If you want to keep the nursery picked up, having a hamper to put baby's dirty clothes will be essential. There's going to be at least a load of laundry to do everyday.
MINIMALIST BABY REGISTRY: BATH & HEALTH
10.cool mist HUMIDIFIER
Invest in a humidifier. It will come in handy particularly during the winter or if the baby is fighting a cold. When the little one has a cold there's really nothing much we can do other than using a fine mist nasal spray and a humidifier.
11.CHANGING PAD & cover
Look for a changing pad with a fastening safety strap and an easy release buckle to keep your baby securely in place while you change the diaper.
12.Baby Monitor
A baby monitor will give you the peace of mind to leave the sleeping baby in the crib and go about doing your chores around the house or just get a quick nap knowing you'll hear the baby when she wakes up.

13.BABY BATH TUB & TOWELS
A bathtub that's safe and convenient for bathing the baby is yet another must have on the Minimalist Baby Registry.

14.NURSING PILLOW
A nursing pillow lifts the baby up and gives relief to your tired arms and back during the many hours you'll spend breastfeeding the baby.

15.THERMOMETER
When a baby gets a fever, it's a scary situation for new parents. A thermometer is a must have on the Minimalist Baby Registry. If the baby feels warm to the touch, you can check the temperature and contact the pediatrician if need be.
